Description
Melanotan II is a cyclic analogue of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) engineered to bind melanocortin receptors, including MC1R through MC5R. In preclinical and experimental settings it is studied for its association with melanin production, UV-response biology, appetite regulation and neuroendocrine signalling via MC4R activity. Supplied as a 10 mg lyophilised vial.
Storage and handling
Keep the sealed vial refrigerated between 2 and 8 °C and away from direct light. Do not freeze unless your protocol requires it.
Once reconstituted, keep the vial sealed and refrigerated, and aliquot rather than warming and cooling the same container repeatedly. Note the reconstitution date on the label.
